He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sarah; sons, Roger,Hal and wife, Judy Lake, one daughter, Debbie and husband, Bill Kesterson; grandsons, Doug and wife, Sandy Lake, Mark and Brian ; two granddaughter,Amy and Sarah Kesterson. He worked for the New York Central Railroad for 17 years and retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. with 23 years of service. He was a World War II veteran serving with the 5th Army Air Force in the South Pacific. He was a ROM gunner on a B-24 Bomber and flew 42 combat missions. He was a member of the American Legion Post 324. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A memorial service will take place November 21, 1998( on which day, he would have been 79 years old) at the Rose City Post 324 on Falahee Road in Michigan Center at 1:00 PM.
